Privacy notice

Who is responsible

Shifterz is operated by [insert registered business name and address] (“Shifterz”, “we”). Contact: [insert privacy email]. This notice should be reviewed by a privacy professional before launch.

Data we collect

Worker accounts include your name, email, account country, password verifier, roles, experience, availability, preferred work city and area, travel radius, shift applications, bookings, attendance, timesheet decisions and account activity. Company accounts include company name, shifts, applications and booking decisions. GPS is optional: after you grant browser permission, coordinates are processed on your device to suggest Cambridge, London or Torino. Coordinates are not sent to Shifterz; only the city you confirm is saved.

Why we use it

We use account data to authenticate users, operate separate worker and company workspaces, match and book shifts, prevent booking conflicts, record attendance and timesheets, provide support, protect the service and administer subscriptions. Intended legal bases include contract, legitimate interests in service security and operation, and legal obligations where applicable. Additional uses such as identity checks, analytics or marketing require review first.

Sharing and providers

Workers’ profile and application details are shown to the company for the shift they apply to. Company shift details are shown to eligible workers. Credentials are not shown to other users. Hosting and database infrastructure is provided by Cloudflare. Stripe will handle checkout and card data after payments are configured. Shifterz does not store full card numbers or sell personal data.

Retention and security

Passwords are stored as salted password verifiers; sessions use random, secure, HTTP-only cookies and access is scoped by role. Data is retained while an account is active and deleted after account deletion, except records that must be kept for legal, safety or accounting reasons. The operator must set exact retention periods and backup rules before launch. No internet service can promise zero risk.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object where the law allows. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or Italy’s Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. Contact [insert privacy email] to exercise a right. Account deletion is available from Settings after login.
